Membership

The Membership of the Group are individuals or representatives from a formally constituted group which represents a significant number of people such as:
  • 6 Police Officers including the Borough Commander and  Community Liaison Officer
  • 6 Council Members of the London Borough of Haringey
  • 2 MP’s
  • Various statutory agencies with a nominated representative
Applications for membership are considered by a Membership Subcommittee who will make recommendations to the Group. There are two types of membership firstly, community representatives from statutory bodies or agencies or specific interest categories who are formally constituted groups or organisations. They must represent a significant number of people functioning within the Borough of Haringey and having substantial and enduring interest in the policing of Haringey, and subscribing to the aims, objectives and constitution of the Group. Secondly, there is Individual Membership. The Group may elect as many individual members who by reason of their past contribution, experience or special skills, make a valuable contribution towards the aims and objectives of the Group.

It is our aim to be representative of all sections of the community.  If you belong to a local community association which does not have a representative on the Group, and you think it should, raise the issue with your local association.

Anyone wishing further information or to join the Consultative Group should contact the Director for an Application Form. Application for membership must be made on the appropriate form which can be downloaded below.
